When the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors and the Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District signed an agreement exchanging a portion of our community's tax monies for fire responsibility, we looked to see what other volunteer fire companies and communities in the same situation were doing.
In the fall of 2022, Knights Valley Volunteer Fire Board (Board) leased the Augie Grube Fire Station to the Northern Sonoma Fire Protection District (District). We started researching what comes next. We learned that other volunteer companies were changing their service to the community and working with awareness, access, and education to empower us together to do what we can to help make our communites safer.
Today, we are preparing for our 2025 recertification with Firewise. We hope to include your information via the annual survey coming this fall.
A Firewise community is comprised of a group of committed volunteers who join forces to reduce the impact of wildland fires by mobilizing and informing residents like you about protecting your home, communities and environments from wildfire and to help you do your part to make the community safer. We are your neighbors.
With your help we completed the community assessment, three year action plan and more to receive this designation for Knights Valley. With it comes an annual recertification where we need your help to complete volunteer hours that you've invested working on your property.
LOOK FOR YOUR 2025 SURVEY IN YOUR E MAIL OCTOBER 1, 2025!
We'll be in touch soon!
Thank you!
